The A-Team knows the power of education and the impact it can have on students. In an attempt to give back to their community and the polycarbonate industry, employees at AmeriLux are doing what they can to educate those around them. From high school students in Green Bay, WI to architects in Shanghai, China, AmeriLux is offering people around the world with opportunities to learn.
Leading by example, AmeriLux Chief Executive Officer – Kurt Voss – has a passion for education. Several times throughout the year, Kurt finds himself at colleges and universities lecturing on entrepreneurship, leadership, distribution/logistics, and daylighting. Teamwork, communication skills, and ethics are qualities that Kurt believes up-and-coming leaders in the business world must possess to be successful in a quickly changing global marketplace. Kurt also sits on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Brown County and is on the Board for Partners in Education; a local government/business collaboration aimed at improving educational efforts and making them more relevant to the private sector.
Patrick Gauthier, AmeriLux’s General Manager, and Travis Vanden Heuvel, Director of Business Development, teach courses in entrepreneurship and management to local high school students as part of the Junior Achievement (JA) program. The JA curriculum fosters work-readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy skills, and uses experiential learning to inspire students to dream big and reach their potential.
Committed to educating the industry and the architectural marketplace, Tim Fikkert, A.I.A. – AmeriLux’s Staff Architect – offers product training seminars, lunch and learn presentations, distance learning courses, and webinars on topics ranging from energy efficiency, to polycarbonate glazing solutions, to sustainable design. Educational programs are offered to architects, sales teams, designers, contractors, and end-users. The model of providing a full spectrum of support and education allows AmeriLux to teach everyone involved in a project the benefits of using polycarbonate products.
AmeriLux appreciates the opportunity to give back in the form of education. AmeriLux also appreciates all of those who dedicate their time and energy to educating others. As the country celebrates National Teacher Appreciation Week this week, AmeriLux wishes to thank all educators for the work that they do!
