“Skylight Replacement at the Historic Train Station in Louisville, Kentucky”
The Union Station is a historic railroad station located in Louisville, KY that is now home to the TARC (Transit Authority of River City). Since buying the station from L&N Railroad in 1979, TARC has spent millions restoring the historic building. Part of the restoration included replacing an existing skylight with a Lumira® aerogel high-performance skylight. The new skylight has increased the amount of transmitted light, provides a higher R-value, and protects the stained glass mural that runs the length beneath the skylight.
Vent tape is used on the bottom edge of a multiwall sheet to allow for any built up moisture to drain out and to prevent water, dust, debris, and insects from entering the flutes. The tape is easy to use. Simply peel and attach to the sheet prior to mounting.
Great customer service has been an important driver in the continued steady growth of AmeriLux International. AmeriLux’s focus on great customer service combined with an aggressive sales strategy has allowed the company to increase its workforce during these trying economic times. Hiring the “right” people for the right job has been a key factor in AmeriLux’s ability to provide high level customer service.
Customer service is often a thankless job and it takes a certain type of person to withstand the demands of the customer service world. Must have characteristics in a customer service role include: a good listener, an ability to solve problems, a passion to help customers, and a strong belief in the company and its offerings. These “must have” personality traits can be found in recently hired Christine Donovan.
Christine is the type of person that exudes friendliness. She genuinely cares about other people and has an upbeat and outgoing personality. “Being knowledgeable about our products and truly caring about our customer’s satisfaction and their goals are what I believe to be the two key factors in my role”, Christine said. “As a Customer Relations Manager my goal is to make sure the customer gets what they want. I hope to do this by educating them with what we have, knowing what they’ve had in the past, and together we can look to the future acting in both companies best interests.” This great service-oriented attitude makes her a valuable addition to the AmeriLux Customer Service and Inside Sales Team.
As a growing company, AmeriLux is committed to its customers to taking the customer service experience to the next level by building and recharging its customer service team and strengthening customer loyalty.

Last week, at the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Business Recognition Luncheon, AmeriLux International was honored with the 2013 Growth Award. This award is presented to a small business with at least three years under existing ownership that established significant growth in sales, service, and employees. And while the plaque signifying these accomplishments hangs on the wall in our office in De Pere, it belongs to all of you. Without the help, support, encouragement, and business from all of you, we wouldn’t be where we are today.
Each day, our team comes to work with one goal in mind: Continuous Improvement. From better customer service and support to a superior line of product, from shorter lead times to offering educational programs to the marketplace, we are always looking for ways to become better at what we do. Your unwavering support continues to inspire us. And it is because of your support that we will continue to strive for excellence in all that we do.
On a recent trip to California, I had the opportunity to visit the Architectural Testing facility located in Fresno. The timing was perfect as several of our products are in the process of getting tested per NFRC.
This advanced level of testing starts with a selection of products based on market needs, past usage, and customer input. Products are selected for testing that will provide the highest benefit to customers and end users. While the actual testing is the responsibility of the lab, AmeriLux International stays closely involved throughout the testing process ensuring accurate materials are tested.
The most recent testing completed was for the Lumira® aerogel Consortium. A Lumira® aerogel-filled 40mm Clear Lexan™ Thermoclick™ panel was tested per NFRC. The test results of .10 U-Value, .42 SHGC (Solar Heat Gain Coefficient), and 38% Light Transmittance verify the high performance of Lumira® aerogel and Lexan™ Thermoclick™. The combination of light transmittance, U-Value, and diffused light put Lumira® aerogel-filled Thermoclick™ panels in a category of its own in the glazing and daylighting market.
Product development and testing have become a permanent part of the building and construction industry. This is especially true with the high demands placed on glazing and daylighting products. AmeriLux International and its partners are committed to developing superior products that exceed our customer expectations and requirements.
