Employee Spotlight: Jerry Cayemberg

jerry_cayemberg“Keeping Your Order Protected During Transit”

After spending fifteen years working long hours in the agricultural industry, Jerry Cayemberg wanted to find a job that allowed him more quality family time. He found that work/life balance when he joined the A-team at AmeriLux International in September 2014.

As lead in the Distribution Center’s crating department, Jerry performs a wide range of activities to prepare orders for shipment including the building of wooden crates and pallets. “We build our crates to fit the materials being stored inside for shipping,” said Jerry. “Every day is different as orders vary in size. A customized crate is built for each order, making sure the panels inside are secured and padded if necessary.”

Jerry also oversees the final inspection of orders, measuring and counting panels before crating them. This last quality checkpoint ensures all orders are fulfilled correctly according to the customer’s needs and project requirements.

“I believe in teamwork and in 100 percent effort,” Jerry said. “Teamwork enables us to get every order crated and shipped in a timely fashion.”

DIY Tip of the Month

40-50mm_imageA tongue and groove joint is much stronger than a simple butt joint. Fitting a tongue and groove joint prevents two adjacent polycarbonate panels from shifting position and achieves a flat surface.

What is tongue and groove?

thermoclick_connectionA tongue and groove joint is a basic “plug-in” connection. One panel has a groove in it. The second panel has a tongue with a matching shape that fits into the groove.

Polycarbonate panels with a tongue and groove joint interlock forming walls or windows, eliminating the need for vertical profiles.
