DIY Tip of the Month

When it comes to installing polycarbonate profiles, first rub some mild soap on the edge of the multiwall panel. This will help slide the U- or H- Channel onto the sheet. Use a soft, wet cloth to remove any excess soap.

AmeriLux Employee Spotlight: Jessie Bildings

“An Attention to Detail”

JessieBildingsA recent graduate from Northwest Technical College in Green Bay, Jessie Bildings joined AmeriLux as a staff accountant in the fall of 2015. She holds an Associate Degree in Accounting and a Certificate in Human Resources. Before joining the A-Team, Jessie worked in the insurance and beef industries, gaining valuable work experience.

“After graduating from NWTC, I wanted to find an accounting position with a company with a great set of values and a team work environment,” said Jessie. “I also wanted to stay in the Green Bay or De Pere area so I could be close to my children. I applied for the job opening at AmeriLux because it offered everything I was looking for.”

Jessie’s day-to-day job accounting duties include entering and paying bills, invoicing, receiving payments, and payroll for AmeriLux Transportation. “I am very detail-oriented,” Jessie said. “Keeping up with the paperwork that is coming in and asking questions when I need to understand something more is extremely important. Accuracy is key. This data is used to help run the company so it needs to be 100% right and it needs to be entered timely.”

It is often the ‘little details’ that customers remember, whether they are external or internal. Jessie believes to create a memorable customer experience you need to be as helpful as you can. “I try to go above and beyond to help anyone I work with to make our work environment the best it can be. A positive attitude goes a long way!”

Frequently Asked Polycarbonate Question

thermoclear_plus_greenhouseQ: Do “anti-condensate” greenhouse coverings eliminate condensation?

A: The anti-condensate feature only changes the way condensation moves or accumulates on the inner surface of the covering. If there is moisture in the greenhouse atmosphere and the outside temperature is cold enough, water will condense. To remove moisture from a greenhouse, ventilation or heating is recommended.

AmeriLux | Frequently Asked Polycarbonate Question

Q:  How to store and handle Polycarbonate and PVC panels during the winter months?

A:  Polycarbonate and PVC panels can be stored outside temporarily in the rain or snow. Stack sheets on a raised platform protected from the wind. Even though the sun’s strength decreases during the winter, do not expose stacked sheets to direct sunlight.  Cover with an opaque, protective material. Covering the polycarbonate sheets will also prevent dirt and debris from entering the flutes. Ideally, panels should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated, shaded area.

Prior to installation, bring the Polycarbonate and/or PVC panels inside, lay flat (uncovered), and allow the sheets to acclimate to the temperature of the room where they will be installed or in a room with the same climate conditions for a period of at least 48 hours.
